The minutes were accepted as printed.
David Hawks, treasurer, gave a recap of expenses/profit from the Dogwood Festival. We made a profit of $17,723.48, which is $13,000 more than 2008. All profits from the Golf Tournament will be donated to Loaves and Fishes. This amount will be determined once all monies are received.
Derek Sneed, with the United Way of Alamance County gave an overview of the local needs of the county and how the United Way goes about determining those needs. They (United Way) do a community assessment every 4 years. From the assessment they determine the needs, educate the community about the needs and raise money to serve those needs.. The money raised through the United Way goes back to our community. Tara thanked Derek and Heather Jordan for the presentation.
